How I Search For Excursions Guide
There has been a lot of talk about finding clean, used Excursions from where to look for them, how to watch for new ones coming up for sale, what sites to use, etc. (Apocalypse, I'm looking in your general direction!)
But really, I wanted to share the way I watched for Excursions - and still do - for everyone's benefit. Basically, the way I do it is pretty simple and easy. Maybe you guys do it this way but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
I won't cover the basic methods we all know and love, auto trader, cars.com, etc. Continue to use those but add this step at the end. This will just be another arrow in your quiver.
Okay lets get to it, so we've all hopefully seen how when you are looking at Auto Trader or a similar site, there will typically be photos of the vehicle and many times at the end there we be a video walk around that's not really a homemade video but just all the previous photos turned into a video with elevator music, pictures being zoomed in and out of, neat transitions, and a computerized voice narration of everything that was already in the description.
Here is an example of what I mean:
First the link to the pictures:
2004 Ford Excursion Limited 4WD 4dr SUV For Sale In Westminster Westminster Hanover Jarboe Motors#
Now the video narration of the pictures:
Well, what I noticed early on is that 9 times of 10, this video is a YouTube video that is posted directly to youtube.com. I'm guessing dealerships use some type of proprietary software that automatically makes a cookie cutter video of whatever vehicle they are listing from the pictures they take and then uploads it straight to YouTube. Maybe folks from the industry can chime in here.
Moving on to the guts of this post.
What I do:
Each day during your Excursion hunt:
1. Go to YouTube.com
2: Type "Ford Excursion" into the search box.
3: Click "Filters"
4: Click "Upload Date"
5: Watch videos for any Excursions that peak your interest. The next day, you do it all over again but just looking at the newest uploads. Literally takes 2 minutes out of my day.
Why do it this way?:
I do it this way because it allows me to capture additional vehicles for sale from dealers that simply don't use Auto Trader to list their vehicles. There's a lot of them!
Even though they aren't using an online website such as Auto Trader, they are posting to YouTube which in this case is essentially acting just like Auto Trader - a centrally located website listing vehicles for sale. It's also fast and easy.
(The Excursion I purchased was bought from a dealer but was not listed on auto trader, cars.com or similar site. Only the dealer's actual website which unless you knew they had it listed you would not have stumbled on it.)
Good luck!!

That is a great way to search what may just be available across the country. Reps, but I need to spread the wealth...

You're an idiot Ben. Spoilers create downforce robbing the motor of cool air and creating friction between the road and the passenger front wheel assembly and hood scoop. Fender vents and stickers along with things like flames make you go faster.
