Go to a salvage and get all the pieces, inc the two-piece speedo cable, the little transducer box that fits in the middle of the cable, the vacuum module, the electronic box under the dash, the wiring between the vacuum module and electronics, the wiring up the steering column, and the horn pad with the cruise buttons. Oh yes, the cable that runs from the vacuum module to the throttle linkage and the add-on bracket, and the vacuum hose to the manifold and to the vacuum dump, as well as the vacuum dump valve that sits on the brake pedal.

The factory cruise will work many times better than some aftermarket setup. Mine works great.

Yup. My factory cruise worked even with the ZF5 and held the speed very well. Used it for 3500 miles to/from the East coast from OK.

I use it on my other vehicles almost every time I drive, but I don't have it on mine. I'd love some pictures of the parts?

Sweet thanks. Only issue is, I have a built 300 and I gutted my engine bay of all unnecessary wires...

Well I'll look into this later. Thanks guys!

Here's a photo of pretty much the whole thing, except the steering column.
I used the signal generator that attaches to the end of the speedo cable so I didn't have to change out the cable.

Also, if you have a manual transmission there is a pedal box bracket and clutch interrupt switch that is separate from the ignition interlock. I believe the automatics have a loop wire plugged into that harness connector. The manual w/cruise pedal box has an additional threaded hole and a tab index hole for the cruise switch bracket. Just a subtle difference that can make your project take longer than planned lol.

Here are a couple more photos of how I installed the signal generator.

The end of the speedo cable in the truck was too big to fit into the unit. The left cable in the photo is still attached to the truck, the right cable-end came from the donor truck. I worked it down with a hand-file until it fit nicely. I filled the gap with silicone (not in the pics) and secured it with a zap-strap.

I couldn't use the speedo cable from the donor truck because it came from a 2wd reg cab, and it wasn't long enough for my 4wd supercab. Modifying my speedo cable-end was the perfect solution.
Also, the plastic gear was different between the auto and manual trans, but they just swapped out.

There's also a photo of the wiring loop for the clutch switch which is by the steering column/gas-pedal lever.

My 84 F150/302 has all the factory parts under the hood for cruise. But I think someone over the years has changed the column. I tried changing the horn pad to one with cruise buttons, it didn't work. And I found a set of hidden keys, the door key fit, but not the ignition.

JC Whtney used to sell an add on cruise control, don't know if they still do.
