Repurposed buildings for a garage?
We seem to have a lot of chicken farms around here and on occasion someone is pulling them down and selling the trusses and the ceiling and wall panels.
These are often 40' wide and can be hundreds of feet long. So, with the right pieces you can have a 40'x whatever you want.
Their roof slope is 4:12. (I think I am typing that correctly.)
I'm on a budget so would built the structure and then pour a slab later.
I'm in the city so I'll have to explore codes and permits.
But I'm looking for someone that has some experience do something similar.
Many thanks!

Cheap way to do it for sure, they sale alot of old chicken barn buildings down in Arkansas. I believe some most or all have a 3' or 4 'concrete stub (side) wall that the metal trusses with short legs attach to??
That way they can quick clean them out with a skid steer and not have to worry about catching on and tearing up the wall posts. Meaning...ck out the length of the legs before you purchase thinking it will go right back together.
But bottom line it is a great way to get metal roof trusses and top metal for cheap. Maybe you can get roof metal that will work for the sides, if the original sides are too short due to the stub was design?
Get it, built it, gravel floor it, get 1" to 1 1/2" crush and run (gravel with lime that once wet down will pack down pretty good) for the time being.
Very good idea to ck city codes and permits and also with the local HOA (home owner association) if you live inside the city limits.
Also ck Craigslist for "material" and free stuff like pallets, cause they can be built into great shelving and or work benches.
Get some C-list coaster and put on the bottom of a good oak pallet and bam roll around eng stand.
