The biggest obstacle is the weather.......
I am enjoying working on the house. With all the other distractions in life, this is taking a bunch of time...........

It looks really good Roy. I'm still waiting on temps above 50 and dry weather. I've all buy given up hope for getting a coat of stain on this year.

I am surprised that the paint can says I can paint as low as 35°F....... If it is 40°F or higher and 80% humidity or lower..... I paint.
So far the temps are lower than normal and more rain then normal.

Unfortunately we used Behr on the decks. You know the ones you always point our need to be redone because the stain sucked and they look terrible? Now this was 7 years ago and I just found the old stain can this weekend. I was shocked to see it was Behr. We are using Cabot this time around. We also used Behr on the walls and it's help up great!

The 2nd coat is so much easier ........
The sanding and scraping is a PITA........ Then primer on the bare spots..... 2 coats of finish paint.

Mine needs paint too, but I won't do anything more for prep than pressure wash the siding. Although I would love to use an airless sprayer and get it done more quickly, I will likely brush it on. You are really bordering on inspiring me, Roy!

Spraying doesn't put on a good enough coat. Maybe many passes with a sprayer would work ???
Ya might ask Rodney....
I brush where the roller won't get to well....... Then I use a power roller... The power head pumps paint to the roller. Does go quicker.

My preference is to use a roller when I can. I painted my house in 2002 using the best that Lowe's had. For the most part, it lasted well. We repainted this year. 16 years on a coat of paint is pretty good! The north side was too tall for me to do so I paid someone to do it in 2002. That side looked the worst.
I have a Wagner roller that sucks paint up into the handle and you release it as needed. It works pretty well but requires special rollers. Wagner calls it the "Smart Roller" now. Mine is old so it must be a "Smarter Than Dumb, But Not Genius Level" roller.
