Jolly Green Giant...2015 F-350 KR DRW
#7098
For many years I was stationed at Ft Monroe just up the river from Navy Norfolk. The Army sent me to Boston for a computer conf in early Sept and I decided to drive instead of fly and take some time off to boot.
I took the Chesapeake Bay Bridge over to the coast and hopped my way to Boston and after the conference as far N up the coast in Maine.
TIP: Travel just past labor day on that route will take you thru many tiny towns that raise money for volunteer fire dept, police, schools etc this means all you can eat: Lobsters, Oysters, Shrimp etc typically for a donation or small fee like $10 bucks. Can you get tired of eating lobsters and oysters...try it every meal for a couple of weeks!
Not having a 5th wheel in those days left me to motel and I also discovered just past labor day you can stay in top of the line places like the White Barn Inn in Kennebunk Me for very little even on a soldiers budget. Kool to be in the restaurant dining with GH Bush sitting a few tables over!
Needless to say I made that Boston Conf every year for many years until I retired. Each year it was a great time and while no RV, it was just me in my Jeep Wrangler, no doors, bikini top, mountain bike hung on the front and lobster/oyster eating my way to Maine and back...
Thanks Roy!

Thank you for posting all the pictures! Especially the ones of you and the family enjoying the amusement park.
The wife and I decided a long long time ago not to have children, The only time that I have regrets about this decision is when we visit Disney. I know that some members here dread visiting the mouse and I think that's too bad. One of the few times that I am envious of those with children are those sharing their Disney visit with their kids. These are the vacation times that I remember sharing with my parents when they were young. As a family, we still talk about our Disney vacation 40+ years later.
Wish Disney rented out well behaved children for the times when the wife and I visit.

Jeez Roy, I had no idea you were venturing this far East. Guess I wasn't paying attention. Up there in VT you were only about 90 minutes away from me!
