you can literally smell raw gas coming from my exhaust. BUT im getting a 172 code when checking them. I have no check engine light this is a memory code that I have tried resetting but it always comes back.
172 (R,M) Oxygen sensor not switching - system is or was lean - Single, Right or Rear HO2S
as I have previously posted my truck never seems to "warm up", meaning the needle never even touches "normal". I have replaced the thermostat with a 198 and replaced the coolant temp sensor on the top of the engine im fairly mechanically inclined but i am at a loss. Truck runs and drives, its my DD.
clean map sensor-check
new o2 sensor- check
seafoam- check
spark plugs changed and gapped- check

I had a similar horrid problem, bleeding gas out my tailpipe. For me it *was* the CTS, and made a world of difference when I switched it out. Did you test the thermostat before installing? (boil it to verify the valve opens) - also, it was brought to my attention that although they look similar the coolant temperature sensor and cooling temperature sending unit are two very different things - if someone pulled the part for you and just grabbed some coolant temperature thingamajig without clarifying which one it was you actually needed...
Do you have just the one o2 sensor? Those can be bad out of the box as well, a voltage meter should help you verify if it's good or not.
