Question timing

im changing the timing belt in a 1992 ranger.what its a 2.3 and im wondering if someone could tell me if the pulley to the right of the crank has to be lined up with a mark because it has a mark on the pulley.it looks just like the pulley on the cam but i dont see any marks for it to line up with.thanks,scott.
