Pro Comp 4" Lift Coil Spring Issue

Hello everyone, having an issue with the Pro Comp 4" lift springs on my 95.

What is happening is even with the lower retainer nut as tight as can be the spring will slide off the perch and bang into my lower ball joint after driving.

To me it seems like the bend in the spring does not come around enough to retain itself.

I called pro comp but they said they have never heard of the issue.

Is there something I can do to correct it or is there a mod I can do to the perch?

Thanks.

A picture would be very helpful, but it sounds like you're missing the lower seat that your spring sits on or something is wrong.

These photos are showing the suspension under load with the retainer washer off (Just so its easier to see).

First two photos show where I set it. Then the next three photos show where it ends up after driving.

Yea, seat is there. Looks like they might be wrong springs. How do they compare to the stock springs on the bottom? Might want to get an email from the tech at Pro Comp and send them some pics.

I feel dumb asking this...

Spring upside down? I'm a bit rusty at the spring deal, it's been many years since I changed any out but I recall them being oriented for top and bottom...Am I wrong? Have you physically rotated them from bottom to the top to see if it changes any?

I saw SteelHorses' reply and he could be right that the spring is wrong for the application and/or vehicle

I do have an e-mail out to pro-comp but was told I would most likely not have a response until Monday.

The spring is definitely not upside down it has a flat portion up top for the retainer up there.

The part number on the spring does match the application for the truck.

Pro Comp 24413.

The truck did not have OEM springs on it when I bought it but really worn out lift springs. Those wrap around the back side of the perch and in no way can slip off towards the ball joint.

My big concern is Pro Comp really doing anything about this because I think I have had these springs for 8 months as they sat waiting for me to rebuilt the entire front end.

Was thinking maybe pro comp lift kits come with new lower mounts or something?

Either you have the lower retainer in upside down or its the wrong one. This is the Pro Comp setup on my truck. See how different mine looks compared to yours?

I have the retainer off just so it was easier to see but mine does look just like yours.

What I am seeing is your spring wraps way around the back like it should. Maybe I have a out of spec spring or a mislabeled/incorrect one.

Thanks for posting that! Hope pro comp comes through for me.

Evan, just curious can you still see the part number on your spring?

I have no idea where on the coil it would be. I looked at both of them as best I could and couldn't see a part number.
