Check Charging System message, battery-shaped idiot light, and audible beep has happened a few times over the past month or so. Yesterday it happened while my wife was driving so I had to bring it to the dealer, not to mention I drove it last night and there was constant beeping for about a minute which was pretty annoying.

But first I had the battery checked, which turned out to be OK. Also we got a new alternator 5 months ago, installed by the dealer.

Today they said they "updated the computer" whatever that means, and otherwise couldn't find anything wrong. $99.85 plus tax.

Needless to say I'm not confident that "updating the computer" has fixed it. What are the odds we get the warning again in a couple of weeks? Short of disconnecting the sensor, is there anything that can be done?

 

I having same exact problem that you are I've been having problems for a while now though. I am still trying to figure out where its coming from my guess is there's a loose wire somewhere because mine seems to do it more when I hit bumps.I'm also having trouble with the ADV Trac the same thing is happening I'm getting the warning message and the annoying beep. It's actually gotten so bad that I've almost turned out the beeping or gotten used to it I've learned to just ignore it but I would love to fix it so that I no longer have to hear that. If you have any luck finding a solution please let me know and I will do the same.

 

Hi Zeeloth, I waited a while to post a reply because I wanted to be reasonably sure the dealer's fix would work.

The day I posted originally, our local dealer installed a computer update which seems to have done the trick. They said there was a Service Bulletin on the problem. I don't have the paperwork handy so I can't tell you which SB it was, but your local dealer should be able to find it.

So from 11/20 until now 12/3/14 the beeping hasn't resurfaced for us.
