Mazda M5R2 tranny
I have a 1993 ford f-150 with a 4.9l I6 in which the Mazda M5R2 tansmission messed up pretty bad. Grinds in all gears even in Neutral. Need to know if there is any bolt patern diffrences between the L - Limited Slip Differential
C - Conventional Differential
This tranny has the conventional. Also need to know if it would be better to find a rebuilt transmission or go search for one in a salvage yard. The few transmission places I have called have wanted $2000 for a rebuilt with a core exchange also. I think this is bit outragious just wondering if anyone has info on this transmission and if there are any other capatable trannys out there that will mount to this 4.9l I6

not to be an ****, but its called an M5OD tranny........
But, the bolt pattern is exactly the same, as the limited slip refers to the rear diff, not the tranny. also, the bolt pattern youre thinking of only changes from the "small block" pattern (300, 302, 351) to the "bigblock" pattern (460 and diesels).
if youre budget is really tight, you can go find one in the junkyard, but its possible its just as messed up as the current one (M5ODs tend to be crap.) i'd look at some f250s in the yard with small blocks and a manual trans, and take its zf-5 speed, much stronger and more reliable than the mazada pos.

The M5OD is actually a family of transmissions. There are several different variations, the M5R2 being one of them.
Anyway, try Phoenix Hard Parts
