Budget Turbo Carbed 300

I want to turbo my freshly rebuilt 300 6. I want to to it on a budget hopefully under 1,200 and want it to be a blow thru system and run on regular grade pump gas running no higher than 5 psi of boost. It has just been conpletely rebuilt with stock pistons and bore size, comp 268 cam, offy dp intake, summit racing 750 cfm carb, hedman headers, and screw in rocker arm studs with stock compression. I want to use the cummins 5.9 turbo and run an intercooler and i know I will have to swap carbs to one that will run the blow thru setup. What are your suggestions and what parts are an absolute must?

Thanks, John

I'd suggest a Holset HE351CW turbo off an '05-'07 Dodge as it can be had for cheap and is about the size you'd want for this engine. You'll need to modify the wastegate to be larger or even weld it shut and run an external wastegate, otherwise your boost will be too high.

My suggestion is for somebody to market a 3/8 thick stainless steel intake / exhaust flange so we can start making a primo all-stainless steel exhaust manifold of the proper design so we can all get it right. Anybody?

Bueller?

Not 3/8" [1/2"], but on eBay, there is a man who plasma cuts exhaust flanges out of 1/2" mild steel [not stainless].

He also offers 1/2" plasma cut aluminum intake flanges.

My search has so far failed to turn up a 3/8 stainless steel flange which I feel is needed to make a first rate piece that will not slough off rust through the turbo.

I could have one made. I'll ask a local company what they'll charge me to copy that mild steel one and then make me a header.
