We bought a 14 Escape 1.6 Eco for my Wife to drive in April.
She fell in love with it the first time she drove it !
Now have 12,000 Mi. on it. No problems yet
Lots of pep and great handling, excellent fuel mileage. Average 27.5 on short trips. 32. longer trips.
Yes, as others have mentioned rear leg room is not abundant, but when we take trips we use the Super Duty CC.
I like the vehicle a lot more than I thought I would and it's fun to drive in the city.
Only one recall for some software and a door hinge check... the door hinge adjustment was not needed on our car and the software update was a piece of cake. However, something in the software went wonky and our clock went nuts. I could not fix it. Neither could the tech until he reinstalled the software. 100% good to go for now. We are very happy with the 2014 Escape and look forward to many years of faithful service.
We bought a 2014 SE 1.6t in August and I now have abt 21000km on it. Only issue was the power lumbar did not work so they replaced the seat module and it has a little rattle in the passenger front door. Oh and I have had the wonderful "Entertainment System Unavailable" message twice until I shut the vehicle off for 10 min then all was good. I average abt 27 city highway and 32 straight highway. The factory Continental tires are amazingly good on icy roads as well. We also use our Super Duty when we need to take any rear seat passengers as I really bought this as my dd because I have a 200 Km drive every day for work (100 each way)
At 15,000 Mi. We still like the vehicle and have had no problems with it.
Seems to get around in the snow just fine, starts immediately in the cold, and warms the cabin very quick.
Good to hear Jey !
looks like you drive it about twice as much as we do.
Did you get the letter on Ford paying for an oil change ?
Guess there was some confusion on proper quantity being used, due to the different engines available.
We also had 5 free oil changes thrown in from dealer when we purchased the vehicle.
I won't have to learn how to do it for a while !!
Fine with me
The wife also has a 2014 Escape. 2.0 and we call is Zippy. Drives through all the snow we get with ease. With this car, I don't worry about the wife getting stuck anymore.
We put some winter tires on our escape this winter, with that and the traction control these things have I cant get it to loose control on the ice road, lol
Brief report on the wife's 2015 SE with 1.6: Car has about 5K miles, about half of those interstate. No problems at all, wife likes it, I like it. Overall MPG is up to 29.1. I figured mileage manually on an interestate trip and it came in at 30 MPG.
