Changed dashboard light now the oil and battery gauge will not light up
HELP! I have a 1999 Ford Ranger. One of the dashboard lights blew (specifically the bulb that lights the speedometer) I replaced it but everything back together, it works BUT now the lights for the oil gauge and battery gauge won't light up!!! I checked the bulbs for those gauges and they aren't blown..... I am by far not a mechanic please any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Welcome to FTE.
Sounds like an electrical connection problem, as the dash illumination lamps are on a parallel circuit, so with the dash out/loose & light switch on, try & wiggle, or rotate those two lamps & see if they'll flicker on. If they do, look closely at their base contact wires & their connection to the circuit board.

I would suggest that the multi-connector cable that is plugged into the back of the cluster may not be seated all the way or has come loose. I believe there are two connectors, and they snap into the back of the cluster, making contact with a bunch of conductors for the lights and gauges.
One other thing is that there is a 'chopper' that regulates voltage to the analog gauges to compensate for the varying output of the battery & charging system. If that fails, or gets disconnected, the gauges with needles will quit working.
