Drive it. There is no comparison for a gasser warm up time to a diesel. It isn't going to warm up until you start creating EGT's. Drive it and it will warm up. A winter front will help as well.

Plugging in the block heater will help some... This is a key reason why Ford offers the Supplemental Heater for the 6.7 equipped trucks. I wish I would have gotten both the supplemental heater as well as the heated seats. I blame the heated seats issue on the ignorance of my dealer which believed that when you bought a turck with the Lariat options, it would come with the Lariat Interior..

Not sure what closing off the front is going to do for warm-up.. If the thermostat is shut, there won't be any circulation through the radiator.

Drive it. Let it run a minute or so then start out slowly. That is your best bet.

My 6.0L warmed up faster as well. Just a different beast. Supplemental heater is a must for cold weather locations.

I agree with, "Drive it." Don't be crazy and keep the RPMs reasonable and she will heat right up. It is nice having a heated steering wheel in my truck, but just Drive it.

Randy ....I agree, it makes sense. However, through experience......a front cover makes a big difference.

Drive it... As I found out that supplemental heater, heated seats, and steering wheel is awesome. My tuck heats up faster than my wife's car does. Because of the supplemental heater a remote start will help get the interior warmer, but usually I remote start it as I am heading out and once eveyone is in we go. Within a couple of miles I am turning down the heat.

If I let it idle, the motor won't warm up and isn't contributing to the warm air coming out of the vents.

Probably your cheapest solution at this point is a 12V heated blanket to sit on.

I haven't plugged in the block heater yet. Been around -10 - -15 the past few days. I may need to start doing that

The two cooling systems in this truck work well. The downside, this truck does take awhile to warm up as you found out. I don't even turn on my heat if I start and go until the oil reaches 100.

I have the automatic climate control. I leave it on auto. It will increase as the motor temp increases.

Plus I have the heated seats and it would have to be on for that to work.
