I bought mine brand new in June 2009. I currently have 219,000 miles on her. I did a DPF & CAT delete at 125-130K.

I replaced the radiator at approx. 150K.

I think the earlier 6.4's had an issue with the wire going into the pump, not a huge deal, sucks, but not all that bad.
I'd rather do that than replace 6.5 fuel pumps every year or 2 at 1500$.
That's just the PMD burning out, right?

I ran my with a K&N cold air intake the nice aluminum one .
And a Diablo I-tunes 1000 on the 120hp setting for 200,000 miles give or take 10,000
I than deleted the cat and DPF and installed a AFE stainless pipe .
I also used the gearboxz DPF-R 4.0 plus and run the economy 70hp tune.
The power is great , I cleaned the transmission adaptive strategies and performed the ford learn procedure . The truck is on your 3 stop and goes between manual shifting and 3 second hold is too go heavier on the first pull and so on. So your 3rd time is almost full throttle . Sometimes this procedure needs to be done 3 different times . If you have a large snap on scanner you can clear the adaptive stratigy all together . The truck won't come out of first and the idicator light on the dash will only light in park . Don't worry let trick sit for 30 min and it will initiate the clear shift stratigy .
The power and fuel mileage I am now getting is way more than I ever expected .
If you need too use heat to remove the last egt sensor replace it . Actually if you use heat on any of them replace them . It will prevent the stop safely crap .
I used to get 12.5-13 mpg around town now I get a solid 16.5-17 mpg
Highway 18.5-20
Those numbers are heavy I. The turbo or just driving a little into the turbo .
These numbers were all done with manual calculations and now I have about 1000 miles on the delete . Bottom line is 85-100 more miles per full tank .
The egr is turned off and is plugged in .
I also installed the bulk it proof egr coolers from bullet prof at 180,000 miles .
I love the truck again and am so happy with the out come .
I am a firm believer in the candle theory . If you burn both ends it will last half as long .
My younger customers ( no wife's no kids no mortgages alway want the mini max and full egr delete and of coarse run the hot 250 hp time . Which is fine . For them and eventually for my shop . Pistons, cranks, stud kits etc.
If you are looking for fuel economy and a lot better running truck well the first option is about $700 in parts . And 3.5 hours of work .
Hope this helped out some people on the fence .
Joe

I could smell exhaust every once and a while and a week ago I stepped on the go pedal and I heard a squeal which I thought was a belt, also noticed loss of power and that noise was coming from the pipe.

FWIW, I was looking for a used 6.4 for a project I have and I found most of them over 200k and some over 300k miles. The pricing was still in the $6-8k range for ones with those kind of miles. High mileage engines are out there.

Buying a 6.4 you must check the hours. Do not assume that since there are a few high mile 6.4ís out there that the one that you buy with 100k miles will make it to 200k miles.

is the subject 200k mile 6.4 has 4000hrs on the engine that would be excellent and obviously a highway driven truck and not a local grocery getter.

if a 100k 6.4 has 4000 hours this would obviously a stop and go local truck likely to have suffered oil dilution due to excessive regen cycles.

The hours and the miles will tell the story.

I just bought a bank repo 09 F350 4X4 with 6.4 truck with 237k miles on it. No keys but the button on speedometer shows 237k when pressed. I will check hours once truck is brought home. I have to go to Nebraska to get it.

I would think a thread with how many hours on your motor would be valuable. I will post once I have a key and checked the truck out.
