buying 2nd hand F250 - newer truck with more miles, or older one with fewer?
Hello everyone - my F150 get wrecked, so I'm truck shopping. My "short list" includes a 2009 F250 with about 68K miles. The other is a 2011 F250 with about 150K miles. Equipment is pretty close, as are the prices.
The big thing that's got me scratching my head is whether one truck would be preferable to another. I like to switch my engines and transmissions over to synthetic oil. 150K miles feels a bit high for the switch. Other than that, I'm on the fence.
A secondary consideration is the 2011 has the 5.4L V8, and the 2009 has the V10.
Fuel economy is not a major consideration, because my daily driver is a car. My truck will be for hauling, towing, and snowy weather.
Would appreciate whatever thoughts folks have to share on which might be better, or pros and cons that I need to look out for. (I'm not familiar with with Ford might have changed between the 2009 and 2011 model years.)
Thanks, Mark

2009 with V10
The models did change between the 2009 and 2011. Just minor changes...and mostly cosmetic inside and out. YES...some mechanical too...but...
As a former V10 6.8L owner (2v)...I'd recommend the 2009 with V10...especially with those low miles. The V10 is a fantastic engine!!...IMHO!
Good luck with your choice...
