OT but relevant, keeping grease guns from leaking?

How do you all store your grease guns to keep them from leaking?

Any tricks to keep the grease from turning to oil?

Is it leaking out the nipple on the end of the hose? Mine used to until I replaced the POS chinese nipple with a good one from NAPA.

It is a pistol grip, leaks out of the T-handle hole on the bottom.

Never had them leak, but they always seem to lose their charge after I crawl underneath the truck. I hate that. If they made a disposable grease gun, I would buy it.

I can not remember ever having a GG that didn't leak. I have two, a zerk gun and a needle gun that I hang over the work bench. I place a rag under them and let m leak. And sometimes I forget to replace the rag so the grease leaks onto the wood of the workbench.

I have a spot under my bench where I keep mine. The sun don't shine there. Yes I put it where the sun don't shine.HaHa. I use the high temp stuff most of the time. Maybe that makes a difference.

never had a problem with mine leaking, but I use pretty stiff grease. I bought a GOOD grease gun(Lincoln) a few years ago....was expensive, but well worth it. The cheap guns are just a headache....

I swear, every time I get mine out to use it, it's out of grease, and I get all greasy putting in a new cartridge, before I've even used it. Half the time it isn't out of grease, it just has an air bubble in the head, even more of a mess.

I use the green or black grease, mostly. Neither separate into oil or leak out the handle. (Lever-pump style cartridge gun)

What kind of gun? And what type grease? Some grease is really thin(low melting point), like lubriplate, and when warm want to turn fluid.
I use a high temp, it's thick like peanut butter.

Grease Gun with Pistol Grip

Just your average manual pistol grip gun, mine is not Harbor Freight though, picked it up at the local tractor parts store sometime back.

Grease is a high temp tan colored grease, I have so many random brands and its been awhile since I changed it that I can't say what the brand is.

Mine do this too, good quality guns with either high temp bearing grease or general purpose grease (EP2). Both are stored out of the sun and both leak oily goop from the T handle hole. Really annoying.
