Cantrell converted "Cowl & Windshield" trucks made by Cornbinder, Hudson, Dodge, Chevrolet, Plymouth to woodie station wagons.
They also converted 1935/42 Packards to woodie station wagons. Since Packard didn't make a truck after 1923, Cantrell cut off the sedan body, then installed the woodie body.
A friend who lives in the 1700 block of S. Oakland Ave in Pasadena has a 1941 Packard 110 Cantrell woodie wagon. The huge house was built in the 1910's for the owner of the Samson Tire Co.
The shopping mall known as The Citadel on Telegraph Rd was formerly the Samson Tire factory. Only the Abyssinian facade remains, the rest of it was demolished when the mall was built.
This house is also a filming location, was used in several Columbo episodes and was the governors mansion in Benson.

My father worked there. It was US Royal at that time. Did US Royal buy out Samson? Or was Samson a facility name? I could look this up, but I'm sure you will know. I've always admired the building façade. Even though it was a little creepy to me as a tyke.

He originally planed to demolish the house and 10 car garage and build 4 new homes on the property. His wife loved the house, talked him out of it.
The last time I was there, the garage contained a 1933 Chris Craft (the first ever built), 1934 Cadillac V8 Convertible Sedan that C. B. DeMille gave to his mistress and 6 Packards.
There's a smaller two car garage behind the house, which is on the west side of S. Oakland. The 3rd floor has a large ballroom, the basement contains a swimming pool and...a bowling alley!
