used trucks parts in CA

This could be a quirk but I am wondering if there are no good used truck parts in California.

Since this spring and through the summer I have sold a lot of trucks parts to buyers in CA. Three weeks ago I sold a Studebaker tailgate to a guy in southern CA. Just yesterday and today, 3 of the 4 items I sold went to warm weather, road salt free Southern California from the rust belt of Central Pa from trucks that have been sitting out in our rain, snow, dew, and humidity for 30 to 40 years.

It doesn't make sense does it? Or maybe my parts are priced right.

Lots of parts here but I think that some folks are just so used to using the internet that they don't think about going to local swap meets, etc.

The 1949/64 Studebaker tailgate is reproduced by Studebaker International, located in Greenfield IN

The thing is, some people go to ONE junkyard, don't find anything, so they go to the internet.

btw: An L/A truck junkyard had a minty '56 chrome grille hanging on a hook for over 30 years before someone bought it.

How ironic. A lof the parts I sell go eastward. It could also be the subject matter.

The farther the part travels the better the perceived quality. Case in point, the Metro in Washington DC was built (the cars that is) here in San Diego but when San Diego built a trolley system do you think they built it here? Nope...they went to Europe to buy it.
