Carb question

All this talk about carbs. on Gary's thread has me wanting to gain some schooling on carb jetting.

The original feedback 2150 carb. from my stock 351W has 1.08 stamped in a circle on the carb body and carries 55F jets. Am I correct in thinking that the 1.08 is the venturi size?

The non-feedback 2150 carb. I installed in doing the computer removal/DS2 swap has 1.21 stamped in a circle and carries 53F jets? Why would a larger venturi carb. have smaller jets? What is the relationship between venturi size and jet size?

The 1.21 carb performs better on my 351, but would there be anything to gain in swapping from 53F to the 55F jets on this carb?

See I told you i needed some schooling on carbs.
