My First Dumb As@ "Noob" Question (Batteries)

Hi All,

Now I KNOW this is a dumb question, but you guys have probably forgotten more than I will ever know about the 6.0's. I have searched for the answer but couldn't find it.

So, my lack of knowledge not withstanding, there are two batteries in the 6.0, one on each side. Are they wired in series or parallel? Is one a starting battery and one a running battery?

i ask for two reasons. One, if I have to jump start it, which one do I use? Next, i have a high end Odyssey Battery in my other truck that i was going to move to the PSD, but am not sure which one to replace. The 2 that are in there now are both Duralast.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

They are wired in parallel.

If they were in series, you would have a 24v system.

Replace batteries in pairs.

They are both used for all functions.

You can jump to either battery. If it's convenient I'd go to the passenger side just because it's closer to the starter and less cable length.

I use whichever battery is closer but having a 20'set of heavy gauge cables makes it a non issue

Sent from my mind thanks to the Internet and an app.
