Crass Diesel

I haven't had any work done or talked with them yet but sound like they know what they are doing. Plus it's not too far away to go there and check them out. I think he has a facebook page also. Let me know if you find anymore info.

Did you find out the name of the place in Oliver Springs? I just bought a 6.0 yesterday and would like EGR delete, egr cooler welded up, and oil cooler replaced.

Yes it is Crass Diesel. I haven't had to have anything done yet that I couldn't do. And I haven't heard of the other place. Where are they at? You have to watch out because some places will charge too much because no one else will do the work. The egr and cooler delete isn't hard to do but the oil cooler is alot more labor. You may be able to do yourself.

I know I can do it myself, I just don't really have the time right now and would rather pay someone else to get it done. I planned on going to Buford, GA but having a shop in town would be so much more convenient. Just don't know where to go.

At first I searched on craigslist for powerstroke or diesel and found about 3 places close by. Crass Diesel has a facebook page and seemed capable of doing the work. I try to help out the small businesses when I can and you may get a better deal that way if it's just him. The main thing is to know what you want done and expect and check out previous work. Let me know if you find out more.

I agree - Just do the proper research and ask lots of questions.

You can end up getting non-OEM head gaskets (which may or may not work hold up) or a poor job of machining, etc. A proper job of checking the heads (flatness and cracks) and the machining itself is VERY important.

I would venture a guess that there are far more average and below shops than there are good ones.

Not many here would recommend Powerstrokehelp for a variety of reasons, but wherever you go, make sure the terms of the warranty on the work are well understood (and if you had to get it back to the shop that did the work, that the tow bill wouldn't break you).
