if you had 500 bucks....

If you had 500 give or take a little and you could only spend it on aftermarket parts (and your vehicle is completely stock) what would you buy?

if you had 500 bucks....

Exhaust and air intake

I would concentrate on the exhaust personally, depending on the vehicle headers, performance or no cats, performance mufflers or glasspacks. then i would add a k&n or similar intake (either just filter or fipk type)

I don't know where you all get tires, but $500 isn't enough to buy " a really good set of tires" anywhere around here! I would save the $500 until I could earn more and really make some decent mods! Or is that the old fuddy dud answer?!

if you had 500 bucks....

Exhaust would be my first purchase(headers and pipes). With what i have left i would spend towards intake related upgrades.

I have to join the group and say start with the exhaust. It doesn't matter how much air you can get in, if you don't have anywhere for it to go, its not really helping...

To do it right - on just about any vehicle - is going to run $500...

I'm curious about all you people recommending exhaust modifications...it doesn't appear that any of you are from the People's Republic of California. When you upgraded your exhausts, didn't you have any trouble meeting your state's emissions programs? I'm almost positive I would out here...

as long as you dont mess with before the cats, its all good. catbacks are 50-state legal. you can replace those cats, but legally they have to be "damaged" before you can replace them.
