1948-52 F1 Steering Column Support Bracket Question

I'm trying to figure out how the bracket that holds the column is installed under the dash. There are three holes on the under side of the dash that the support bolts to. Any help is appreciated.

There are 3 oval shaped holes in the bottom of the dash. I assume I use two of them. The two on the right?

I'm installing something very similar to this picture

Here is a photo. Yes it bolts to the inner set of holes. You can see where it was installed.

Thanks for the picture. It didn't seem right having the steering wheel not centered between the two large gauges but apparently that's the way.
