Truck shuts off when driving
Truck is a 2005. So today I'm just driving to school, ran fine most of the way then all of a sudden the battery light comes on and the truck cuts out. Pulled to side of the road and checked battery voltage and FICM, 48.5v and 13.5v. Fired right up, drove about another mile and same thing. This time I scanned for codes.
P0341
P0620
P0623
P0677
P1148
P2617
Cleared codes, fired right up and kept going cause I needed to get to school. Stopped at the gas stop to grab my coffee, left truck running and out of curiousity scanned for codes again. This is what I got this time.
P0620
P0623
P1148
Finished the drive to school, once I got in the parking lot it idled for a while then same thing. Battery light and cut out. Same codes as lost above. No idea what gives, I did wash the engine yesterday lightly because it was covered in dirt. So what did I mess up?

Those 3 codes you got are all related to the alternator,620,623 are voltage and circuit 1 problems, the 1148 is alt circuit 2 . They can be false because the truck is stalling and the ECM see's the low voltage and it trips the code, I can't see the alternator even if it is going bad cause the truck to just shutoff, unless there's a short in the wiring going to the alt, the harness does tie into the icp and other sensors that may cause a stall, sometimes the harness chaffs on the intake or valve cover and could cause a short. Take alook at the harness in those areas first maybe hosing down the engine made the problem worst. a couple bare wires from rubbing now wet could do it. Maybe the ignition switch is going bad, I have seen that before too. Hope I helped

Could be you have access to a scan tool do a injector balance test. Is it possible you got bad fuel? or did it start acting up after you ran the tank low? First it's cutting out now the injector problem, did that start after you played with the wiring harness? If so thats your answer, now you just have to find it.

Ya your dumping fuel in. check for trouble codes, something is going on, I can see 1 injector crapping out on ya but to have multiples something more is going on there, you might want to change the fuel filters, there are 2 and look into fuel pressure, your wiring make sure nothing is leaking ect.

There's no codes regarding anything fuel or injector related, just the same stuff as before. I figured id atleast get a contribution code or something. I'll try changing out the fuel filters later and see if that does anything. I don't have FP gauge so I guess if the filters don't work I'll take it a shop and see if they can do FP test.
