It spent most days up until now as my moms commuter and grocery getter only going about 10 miles a day back and forth to work and on weekends it was our family trip car. I bought it off my parents when they decided to get a new car becasue i was commuting 80 miles a day to school in my truck which got 10 mpg so 18-19 hwy was almost double that and i spend a ton less on gas even though it's still an SUV. I am 6'5" and 280lbs so i could justify an SUV lol.

Basically i am making a separate thread for my Expy so i don't randomly though it into my other two build threads when i make progress. I have two separate plans and I am in the deciding stage of which way i would like to head. I am thinking a 3/2" lift with some 33's or a 1"ish drop with the stock tire diameter and bigger rims.

Basically i am going for this:

I have a 2010 Black Limited and would love to lower it by an inch or two in the front and 1-2 in the rear. Not to hijack this thread but can you point me to any info on the white Expy's lowering kit? I assume it is lowered, rather than it just looking lowered by larger wheels. I did some googling but couldn't find a kit for a 2010. They all seemed to stop at 2007.

Thanks,

For all you 3v 5.4l guys what type of maintenance should be done after the 100k mark besides routine stuff? I need new plugs and coils that's already on my list but what about like the thermostat etc? I am going to hit 108k on my ride home tonight its all been highway miles if it matters at all.

24" Wiper Upgrade

Hey guys i needed new wipers so i figured i would try some larger ones since its such a popular upgrade on the SD's. I went with 24" blades and they fit perfectl and increase the visibility greatly!

The passenger side was a bit low after installing them so i adjusted it and here is how.

Before:

First you have to flip up the wiper arms nut cover.

The nut is a 16mm nut that has to be unscrewed and removed then the arm simply pops off and you can adjust it as necessary.

It increased the covered area by about 2"

Also it snowed and i thought this was a good picture to take before i left the work parking lot, i took traction control off and did a massive donut on the way out becasue i was the last one in the office lol.

Hey guys, what tuners are out there for the 07+ Expeditions? I wanted to add an Edge CTS to monitor things but then I thought why not get an evolution one but of course its not offered for 07+. Are these the same as the 09+ F150's which edge offers a tuner for and can those tuners be used on the expeditions?

I believe you can get the SCT tuner for the expeditions but you may want to check with mike at 5startuning first.

My mom's 04 Envoy (Ya a chevy) has the air suspension and that thing rides like a dream I highly recommend it on a street car. Only thing I hate on my mom's car is it came stock from the factory and the switch is way in the back and they hatch doesn't open so it sucks trying to let the air back down. I have been to lazy lately to let it down since I towed with it (automatically airs it up) so the rear sticks up like crazy and with it being muddy lately it slides all over in 2wd.

Good to know Trav i wanted to improve its ride and i figured going to air ride would be a nice way to improve it. I'm not going to do Factory Air ride though i am going to do a custom set up and set it so the front and rear can be lowered/raised together instead of each individual wheel. I've been talking with a kid at school who does air ride on his trucks a lot and he said we could come up with a system easily. I'm not dropping it though maintaining the same ride height and then i can select its ride height if i want to lol.

Usually I won't recommend air ride but ever since this car my mind has changed. Only thing I hate is on the backroads I can't go to fast because it might puncture the bags with a rock. Not like I can go that fast in that truck anyways on the backroads.

Lol true, do you find the ride bouncy at all? I'm curious if i need to drop money on the expensive air bag struts or just make some mounts for the bags and run straight bags on it.

EDIT: definitely need shocks as well just did a quick google and that confirmed it lol.
