DTC 2066 code thrown this morning

I'm not having a whole lot of luck finding info on what iDash calls a "2066" (no "P" or anything else preceding it, just "2066"). Other than finding generic explanations of what "P2066" means on Groogle, which indicate a possible stuck fuel tank float.

Granted, it's been very cold here in North Texas for the past three days, and discovered this code thrown upon startup after sitting in that cold overnight (but just this morning, not subsequent mornings when just as cold). Almost a full tank of fuel, as well.

Shutting down and restarting without moving didn't clear the code. So, I cleared the code on the drive in to work this morning. I reckon I'll find out if the code gets thrown again in a few more hours when I leave.

Are the other online search results I'm finding correct, in that it might be a potential stuck fuel tank sender float, due to the cold weather? If so, I won't worry about it, as it will likely not be an issue when the weather warms up (or, it was just a freak occurrence due to the abnormal cold temps lately).

Otherwise, all Ford diesel ODBII codes that I can find online don't even list a "2066" code ("P" or otherwise)...

Got a screen shot of the error

what does banks say

sometimes I get a banks bus error and down arrow it to restart idash or go into idash reset…or..try to restart turn with lights and radio on…apparently idash needs to sense a voltage drop to turn on and if the battery doesn’t voltage drop upon start…spooky bananas

It's not an iDash error, those wouldn't throw a DTC to the dash. I was only stating that iDash doesn't display the code with the prefix designator (such as "P" or "B"), just the code digits alone. I'm going under the assumption that it should be "P2066".

But, I'll try the Banks web site, see if they have a list of Ford diesel ODBII codes.

First thing I would do is get a proper code reader and scan for any codes. If there is one stored it will most likely start with a "P"

I do have one, but it's at home in the garage. I'll use it later today to pull up the stored code. I knew that the iDash could pull up codes (stored or otherwise), so I used that when on the way to work this morning. However, I just couldn't find anything specific to Ford 6.7L diesel models (lots of hits for other manufacturers, and the generic "fuel tank float" explanations).

So, even if I pull up the code with the aftermarket reader later, and discover that it's "P2066", I'll still be in the same boat and not know if it means something specifically different for Ford diesels than what I found for the other manufacturers.

Ah, that's it. Thanks for confirming! BTW, haven't had the code thrown since clearing it (plus, it's been above freezing all day today). I reckon the sudden drop in temp caused a sticky float, and will find out in the morning if all is well again!

Update, following morning: All is well, sure glad I don't live way up north. I can't see how y'all deal with the freezing temps for weeks/months at a time, and it's not welcome down here in Texas!

Last Monday I was traveling and the outside temp was -16*F....at all speeds everything was fine except my diesel engine braking switch had no function, didn't even illuminate on the dash.........today it was 11*F and it worked normal, so I too am blaming the cold weather.
