Who's Got Aftermarket Lights

Just as the heading says who out there has given the on square halogen light the flick, and renew with something larger or /and brighter (wouldn't have to be much. ha ha )
I've replaced mine many years ago and have been flashed of a night for so long , i thought it was just because i was running HID globes but as Simon has pointed out to me the globes don't match the light housings.
At the moment I'm in the process of turning the globe around in the housing to preposition the light cut-off, this means cutting /slotting either the housing or HID light housing .

Just thought i would get a feel of what others have done about better lighting .

Not much.
Narva 48951 H4 130/100W headlight globes
and two 8" Hella 100w halogen driving lights.

The original, as far as I know, it's what was in it when I bought it.

I replaced the sockets and have done a DIY wiring upgrade to use
thicker wire and 30A relays to provide full voltage to the globes.
The original wire is way to thin!

I plan to replace the QI driving lights with a couple of HID units,
for long range illumination, and a couple of LED bars to light up the
verge, to keep an eye out for grazing fauna.

So Brian you've still got the rectangle halogen lights in , how much did the wire up-grade improve the lighting ?
I have turned the HID's i have around to the 9 o'clock position now will see if that improves the pattern tonight.

How much did the wire upgrade improve things is pretty subjective.
It is not easy to say as it will depend on ambiant light and how
reflective the environment is.

I did notice an improvement but it's difficult to quantify.
I should have made some before and after voltage measurements I
guess but I did not.

Considering that the cost of a couple of metres of decent cable
and a couple of relays is negligable, and the job is easy to do I
reckon its worth doing.

I would not bother if I had to pay the inflated prices for some of the
after market upgrade kits I've seen for sale though.

They look to be the "2005" headlight conversion - the light housings fitted to the 2005-2007 US trucks.

More for aesthetics than light performance - haven driven an 05 truck, I couldn't tell the difference.

To answer the original question, my truck has a different housing style, but I'm running a complete replacement housing.
RECON Part # 264272CLCC Ford Superduty 11-15 F250/F350/F450/F550 PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS Clear w/ Chrome Inner Housing w/ CCFL HALOS & Daytime Running Lights - Clear / Chrome
Which has HID low beams fitted.

I plan to fit a small LED light bar in the grill to improve high beam performance too.
