New Member Intro - 56' custom

Hi all,

I'm Greg from Webster, MA. I recently bought a 1956 F100. My wife and I got this truck to enjoy and use (we chose this over getting a BMW). We plan on driving it frequently and enjoying the hell out of it. The truck is a ground up rebuild originating from a builder in Batavia, Ohio I believe (would love to track the builder down and ask a few questions). Someone put a lot of effort into making this truck a daily driver level quality. A few specs:

Engine: 302 with edelbrock manifold and 1406 carb
Tranny: C6
Body: Satin black, glass fenders, custom tonneau cover made from cargo van roof, 4" chopped out of hood, metal bed slats
Interior: 54' Oldsmobile dash custom molded to fit like it came from the factory, mostly stock panels, bench seat out a mid 80's dodge I think
Creature Comforts: Power brakes (firewall mounted), power steering, tilt steering column, column shifter

Welcome to FTE. Good looking truck, appears nicely done. IMHO, not too radical. I believe there are several folks on here from the Batavia area.

Welcome to FTE! Awesome looking truck. Thanks for posting pictures before we started begging.
That was no easy task replacing the dash.
Was the front suspension swapped out or do you still have the straight axle?
disc or drum brakes?
Do you know what rear end you have in it?
Good decision on this over the BMW.

Thanks Guys,

Harrier, I'm still getting myself up to speed with everything F100 (new to Ford and to the F100) but a fours are sitting on springs and struts, no straight axel in front. I believe its a ford 9" rear. The rear wheel base was widened to accommodate for the wide tires. The rear brakes are drum, disc in the front.

I drove her (named her Lilith meaning female demon) 4 hours home after buying and she handled better than my altima at 80+ mph on winding highway roads.

Ah yes, the seat belt. Compliments of the wifey. We both are so darn use to retractable belts.

Seen many custom cars and trucks with other vehicles' dashes that fit and looked poorly inside the vehicle they were set in, this one looks like it fits pretty good!
