I left the EGR cross over pipe on since I did not want to cut it out or lift cab to get it out. I had to fight to get the 2 bolts back on top of the turbo that supports the EGR pipe and I think that was because the pipe that is broken in the picture was not welded correctly. I think it was stressed from being pryed into position so that I could bolt everything up and then engine vibration took its toll.
Needless to say this time around the EGR cross over pipe is coming out. I am just so happy to not be dealing with removing the turbos and the expense in that!

Did this a while ago but didn't post a picture. Now I should be able to see the moose before I hit it!
Just wired it up to auxiliary switch 1. I need to put a relay in there yet that will turn it off when I hit low beam. I'd hate to dim for someone but then forget to turn the light bar off!

Well as it turns out neither of us were correct. All air boots are tight, installed correctly and no rips/tears. I decided to take inner fenders off as we all know this is the first step in working on a 6.4 and to my surprised I found soot on the driver side up pipe and EGR pipe. I have not located that leak yet as I have to jack the cab up to get the EGR pipe out of my way but I suspect I have a leak on the EGR pipe. This pipe is original Ford/Navistar and has 133K miles.
As I began to tear the pickup apart and get ready to remove the EGR pipe I find that it was completely broken off from the passenger side up-pipe. I just changed the up-pipes in November and have around 1000 miles on these new pipes. So I have located the bang and sudden loss of turbo boost. Thank goodness it was not a turbo.
Now to contact MBRP to find out about the warranty and get new pipes installed.
I have had an annoying whistle for 6 months now, thought it was leaky up-pipes but noise was still there. Well I found broken exhaust manifold bolts on the passenger side. That looks like that will be super fun to fix as there is no much room and cab off is not an option for me.
Needless to say I am glad to have found the source of all my problems and it is no where near as bad as I had previously thought!

There is a specific procedure to installing the new up pipes that needs to be followed. Its important to leave all the corrections loose and follow the proper torque procedure. This happens a lot when the installation is incorrect. The welding Jig could have been off but you usually see that at assembly, you should not have to pull or stress the fitment to the flanges.

I think i remember when you did this, didn't you do a whole right up, if i remember it looked like it all went to together well.

Had to replace the passenger side windshield squirter yesterday, had to replace the drivers side about two months ago, so if one breaks replace both, they almost crumbled in my hands, must be the heat.

Did you have a specific mounting kit with yours or how did you mount it?
I fabbed my own brackets and wasn't exactly pleased the way it turned out. I wanted it a little further back. It's not too bad the way it is, but sometime when I have the time (and energy!) I want to modify the brackets to set it back a bit. More like the fog lights.
Might have to wait until I repaint the bumper!

Changed out my oil pan bolt for a Famuto drain plug and changed the oil for the first time myself. I usually let the shop do it but I'm doing it myself for now on. Got me a 16qt oil reservoir and a funnel that fits perfect in the oil fill hole from Walmart, also got 3 jugs of 15w40 motorcraft oil from Walmart @17$ each and a new motorcraft filter. Next oil change should take about 10 minutes.
