Was discussing the weather with one of my brother-in laws (a Windsor, Ontario native) and he pulled out his phone and gave me a time line until his retirement, in hours, minutes, and milliseconds,LOL, and stated his next January, February, and March will be spent in Texas on the Gulf coast. I stated he should be thankful he doesn't live in BC or Alberta, and he said those people up there JUST aren't right. LOL
I think your post goes along with that statement.

I replaced the heating pads on the driver seat last night. Took about 3 hours from start to finish and my butt is so much happier now!

Here is the write up with pictures for anyone who is interested in taking this project on.

What did I do to it today? Hardly worth mentioning, removed the broken backup sensor. But last week Saturday I replaced the EGT probe on passenger side up pipe. It's just nice when the display shows actual temperature rather than 92° all the time. And, while I had it in the shop for that I drained the water separator and what do you know! It dribbled a surprising amount of water. So I let it run for a while to be certain ALL water had escaped.
On another note, that same day I tore the "secondary" hood release cable. Buddy at Ford told me that's common for the early '08. Hmm...

Today I replaced the shocks, fixed some exhaust mounts that were messed up from the PO, changed the tranny filter and fluid, and gave it a look over.

Radiator is on the list, as well as a passenger side wheel hub assembly...

Although I'm sure it retains more heat though. Having known a few guys that trashed motors from overheating with the rad covered, I'm out.

Anyone know if and how much fluid goes through the rad when cold?

How did they overheat their trucks??
Ford sells it and says it's ok to use up to 50 degrees as long as your not towing.
Mine heats up faster, plus it keeps most of that salt crap off the front of the engine, and that alone is worth the cost of the cover.
IMO

I've used one plenty, never heard of anyone using them properly hurting their truck...

I changed out the rear axle pinion seal and drained the old gear oil out. Cleaned everything up and topped off with new 75/140 gear oil. Really not a bad job at all, 3 hours total over two days to complete it.
