OEM King Shock Upgrade?

OEM King Shock Upgrade?
Has anyone installed the OEM King Shock upgrade?
I was looking at the adjustable 25001-171A and 25001-136A
They are pricey and the adjustable version is $200-$300 more per pair
This is for a non-lifted stock application, F-350 4x4 KR, stock at this point
Looking to replace the Rancho's,,,, I put Bilstein 5100's on my 2011 and was wondering if the Kings were deemed worth the extra $$

I recently purchased a new F350 and was looking at the options and noticed King now offers OEM 2.5 pintop shocks. I was happy with the 5100's I put on my 2011 however, always looking to upgrade. The Kings are a bit pricey, about 8-10 x's the price of the 5100's and was curious if anyone has tried them. Don't mind spending the extra $$ if there is a significant difference especially since I will keep this truck for awhile. I also like the idea of adjustable feature.
Also open to other options, Fox, etc...........

This is coming from a guy that currently has Rancho 9000s on two different vehicles and is very satisfied with both, but I am pretty good at playing devil's advocate. After purchasing 2 separate Ford F350s and paying extra for the FX4 package that includes something white that resembles a shock absorber with Rancho decals on it, I can understand why people would hesitate to look at the 9000 as a replacement! The OEM "Rancho" shocks do not instill faith in your products and personally I think Rancho should sever ties with Ford for that reason. I guess you sell a high volume of fake shocks built to Ford specs and by comparison the lost market share caused by those shocks is minor.
Anyway, it took me more than 4 years to actually give the 9000 a chance. I put them on the wife's Wrangler as part of a Rancho lift and have been very satisfied with them in that application. I later installed 9000s on my F350 and have so far (15,000 miles) enjoyed success with them. I like the fact that I can ride around empty with the shocks set to 6 for a decent ride then simply switch them to 9 when I hitch up the toy hauler with over 3100 lb pin weight and the shocks will easily control the bounce that I had with the previous "shocks". Although I think you have a great product, you have to understand that some people simply want more than what you have available. Also anybody that has ever owned a Ford FX4 probably believes that Rancho shocks are the Yugo of shock absorbers. If I was Rancho, I would pay Ford to not put my name on their product!

I have had 3 FX4's and each time I was sadly disappointed with the Rancho's which were supposed to be an upgrade. It does leave one with the opinion the product is somewhat lacking, I don't want to slam Rancho, but it makes me very hesitant to install another pair. Having said that, there are some very respected folks here on FTE who have installed the 9000's and were very pleased. The lack of a response from anyone regarding the King shocks leaves me with two possibilities, 1) They are over priced and not worth the money and the name is driving the price or 2) They are relatively new and the cost shy's people away.
I will give the 9000's and the adjustable Bilstein's a long look before I make a purchase

I recently posted about installing a ICON leveling kit which included coil springs, 2.5" piggyback shocks, and a dual steering stabilizer. I have been amazed at how great my truck rides. with 35" tires the truck handles like a dream on & off road, tracks straight as can be, and has minimized sway and rolling. I'm beyond Happy with the ride.
I realize most people are going to post how happy they are with a exspensive purchase/upgrade to there beloved truck.... I assure you my happiness with improving the OVERALL ride quality of my truck is well worth the money.
take a look at what ICON has to offer as far as shocks/ ride improvements.

That is hilarious, a loaded CC,,,,,hmmmmmmm
Ford-DNA----- thanks for the info regarding Icon,,,have not thought about them, I will look at their set up.
I am not opposed to spending $$, however, it would be nice to hear someone has already traveled that path and had exceptional results......
Truth be told, I have Carte Blanc with the cost....you see, took a trip with the wife in the 350 and it bounced wayyy too much, she advised she would not ride in it until I replaced the shocks (although i won't win, it will never ride like her Infinity SUV)

For what it's worth I put the 9000 XL's on my 2008 F350 and loved them. I also threw away the stock "Rancho's" because they were basically useless. I too was hesitant to go with a Rancho again but they came highly recommended at a local shop that specializes in 4x4's. Like others I really enjoyed the fact that the 9000's are adjustable and they were easy to adjust even without the optional air compressor to adjust them from inside the cab.

It takes about 5 minutes to fill out the form and get the gift card (from Visa) sent to you. If this is a waste of time, no need to fill it out. This is pretty common. I do it every year with Bausch and Lomb contacts.
Umm no. You aren't filling out a "Rancho" branded credit card application. You get a "credit card" aka a Visa gift card with the value of one of the shocks on it. Say you bought 4 9000's at $95 a piece. A gift card for $95. Use it where you want...
Again good luck in the hunt. Keep in mind a monotube style shock is firm, so a lot more "road feel".
