03 F250, 7.3, battery light comes on when cold. Engine runs terrible. P0308 comes up occasionally. Once truck warms up, light goes off, truck runs perfect. Some sort of voltage issue? Wondering if the misfire code is associated with voltage? Thoughts?
WOW!!! Your VERY FIRST POST!! (I made mine over 15 years and 3 trucks ago!!)
Welcome aboard! Not sure what the code PO308 is, but it sounds like your alternator may be on its way out.
You can have it checked and if its not working as it should you should have IT rebuilt by a quality, home town type auto electric shop over buying a questionable unit at a box store.
The battery light is flickering due to a bad wire in the three wire pigtail
cut it off and replace it with a new one
The three wires are pulled up and not making good contact in the alt
I had this issue and fixed it after many bad alt replaced/new batteries
