Sticking Caliper? Something is holding the truck
2008 Expedition, 85k
New rear pads in May
New front pads in September
All calipers all pushed back with a c-clamp with normal effort.
Sometime after new rear pads, and before new front pads I noticed that sometimes it feels like something is holding the truck back.
From a red light or stop sign, let off the brake and the truck doesn't move or roll like usual, and seems to take extra effort to get going.
My driveway has a slight grade and normally the truck will roll out but when this happens, you can tell its rolling much slower than it should.
Ive used a laser thermometer, and there's no wheel/rotor/caliper thats considerably hotter than the others.
Ive lifted one wheel at a time and spun it by hand and none have any resistance.
Checked brake hoses, none are twisted or kinked.
e-brake is not on.
But sure feels like a caliper that has stuck.
Any other ideas?

After the new pads a friend suggested I bed the new pads. I did 7-8 fast slows from 60 mph to 20 mph. issue remained.
When I got home I could smell the brake pads.
I got my laser thermometer and that passenger rotor was 520°
The rest of the wheels were 300°.
That made me pay attention when driving and I detected slight pulling to the right, hardly noticeable.
So I did the front passenger caliper.
Issue remains
new brake hose came in yesterday, hope to get it on this weekend.

I never did post back. Finally did the brake line on that front passenger side.
When I got it off, you could not blow though it.
New line, new rotors, new pads, and all is well with the world again
Took it for a drive and bedded the brakes with 6-8 moderately hard stops from 50 mph to 10 mph and they bedded nicely, removed the coating off the rotors.
I took the line apart and the failure was where the bracket was crimped on. It was crimped way too tight.

Glad I used the search button before posting. Just replaced the front rotors, calipers and pads on the front because the front driver was sticking. Thought all was well but now the front passenger is sticking... Will be checking the lines tomorrow. And parts were professionally installed since the dealer covered the labor portion, but I've caught plenty of shop mistakes before.

I know it's not a Navigator, but I had the front pass. side caliper on my 2011 F250 stick on me last night.
The truck has 110K miles.
When I stopped the truck, smoke was coming out. Super hot. All 3 other wheels were just warm as normal and I could put my hand on those wheels.
But that pass side was a scorcher.
Had to wait an hour while fanning the wheel to cool down before easing the rig back home.
Jacked it up today and the wheel spins easy. Don't know what caused the caliper dragging tho, but if it was the caliper, then it unstuck itself. I suspect the line now.
It glazed the rotor and pads real good, so new replacements are needed.
I just hope the wheel bearing grease isn't ruined.
