1978 F150 Flatbed Rockcrawler, Built 351M, 6" lift, F250 axles

Year: 1978
Make: Ford
Model: E-150
Price: $1600
Mileage: 148000
Color: black
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): CT
Transmission: Manual
Drivetrain: 4WD & AWD
Color: Black
Engine: 5.8L, 351M cammed, headers, head work, 670 Holley Truck Avenger

nvm, KEEPING IT.....

1978 Regular Cab, 351M, 4 speed, 4.56s gears, mud truck, drivable on highway, goes straight.

Frame has NO rot, just surface rust, needs only wire wheeling and paint.

Engine runs like a beast, cammed, headers, Holly Truck avenger 670CFM, Edelbrock dual plain intake, maybe head work was done, not sure, has New Wires and plugs 8mm, MSD Distributor and Coil, New Fuel lines both rubber and steel, 2 new fuel filters, New Gas tank not installed, it needs a new ring gear on the flywheel but I have a video from a few months ago of it running. Or for the right price I'll change it and remount the starter.

4 speed NP435, NP205 Transfer case

6" Skyjacker lift kit, radius arm drops, new C-arm bushings installed.

8 lug axles from 1978 F250: Front Dana 44, welded, Rear Dana 60, welded(rebuilt recently),both 4:56 gears, new pinion seal in rear.

Tires are Goodyear OZ 37x12.50x16.5R, about 90%, no hum or shakes on the road, nice 16.5" x 9.75 aluminum wheels.

True dual exhaust with Thrush mufflers, dump under flatbed to sides.

Body work: needs floors and 2 front body mounts, I have LMC replacement front steel for mounts and plain old sheet metal for floors.

Needs 1 cab corner, 2/3 of cab and doors have been sanded and painted, drip rails and roof are fine, doors are a little rusted at the bottom but not rotted through like usual.

Flatbed has been stripped down to bare metal, acid etching primers, and "Rustoluemed" for 2 coats, looks awesome!

Both Driveshaft's are CV and has no vibes.

New Redhead steering box, new E350 Saginaw pump conversion, new high pressure hose, tires turn easily, no squealing, no leaks, tight steering! I spent a lot of time getting this right, not cheap!

brakes are good, no leaks, lines are rusty in places.

New parts not installed; Black Dodge 2002 Bench seat, cherry condition, line right up; new door locks, new door strikers(old ones work fine but why not), New starter solenoid, new ground wire.

Glass is all good, no major issues, rear slider window, truck looks like what it is, a sick mud and rock crawling beast from the 70s!

$1600 Firm

1600 is what I have into it, plus a hundred hours or so. I got it from a buddy who got it in a trade 3 years ago with the idea of making a plow truck out of it. He Races and had not done anything with it until I saw it. I got it cheap, spent a bunch on the steering, rear axle, and getting all the little parts. So I'll break even and pass it to someone(hopefully) that loves 70's Fords like I do.
