new to v10, not to superduty

ive had many fords (mostly diesels) so when this truck came across my gaze i did some research and bought it. its a weird truck, ex dea truck. 2009 f250, dana 60 front with arb lockers. dana 70 rear with limited slip all w/430 gears, full bilstien lift, floor shift transfer case, bullet proof windows, and this great v10. in the near future im going to turbo it and its already going up higher but in the short term id dig knowing what i can do to enhance a bit of performance. i still have my 04 6.0 diesel but im really fallin g in love here... thanks.

If you go ahead with the turbo that's all you'll need/want.
In the meantime: everyone talks highly of Mikes 5 Star tuning. Seems to be the real deal.

We need pictures. Sounds pretty awesome.

Mike seems to be the go to guy. Call him and see if he can program for boost.
These modular engines take boost well. I'd say install a diesel intercooler and work off of that. If you want to pull engine apart, you can get forged pistons and better rods. Then you'll be golden.

As far as what to do now...
Headers are cheap on eBay, but need to clearance the passenger frame a hair.
Stock y pipe is ok I believe, cat is fine if not plugged. Then I buy a diesel 4" exhaust and put that on. It fits great, and is unrestricted. You neglected to put a location down when you signed up for the forum, but if you don't need emissions, you can remove the cat, the programmer can turn off the second set of o2 sensors.
Look into a shift kit. The programmer can electrically control pressure and such, but it's good to upgrade it mechanically. Bigger trans cooler is a bonus even though it's not adding power to you.
I use a dropin kn filter, but I'm thinking on my next vehicle to try the new dry filters. Over oiling kn filter and not letting it drip dry will coat the mass air sensor and throw it off. It's a common issue.

Sorry about that. I'm in mesa az. We do have emissions but I have a cabin up north where I register my trucks so I can clear my cats. I've done that, and the 4" rear section of exhaust with a 7" tip. Sounds good. I'm going to self fab an intake using an AFE dry filter and box. That stupid stock Intake couldn't be more restrictive or ugly. Yeah after reading all this I'm going to go with the 5star tunes as soon as I can. The turbo is going to be early next year so I need something different now. I'm used to the power of the diesel but I dig the reliability of this engine. Plus there's really only so much one can do to it and diesels... Not so much. Not sure how to do pics jut yet. I will figure it out though.
