flatbed mounting help

cab and chassi frames have it easy as its all one straight section. our pickup frames rise up over the rear axle. How do you guys mount your flatbeds? Do you place a 2x4 before and aft the hump, and then another 2x4 ontop of that with a full 8' length over the axle hump? does it sit flush with the 2x4s already on the flat part of the frame? sorry if its hard to understand, easier to show.

You can either use block front and back OR take one long piece and cut it to match the contour of the frame.

BTW, you want to use white oak or some other anti rot hardwood
