1997 Cab & Chassis fuel tank.
I posted this in the general section too, but didn't get any help. Maybe since the majority of these trucks were diesel I can get some help here.
I need a new skid plate for the rear fuel tank on my 97 Cab & Chassis truck. The current skid plate is just about rusted in two pieces. There are also no straps on the bottom tank, just the skid plate, so I am a little worried about the tank falling out.
Can anybody confirm or deny that a skid plate out of a regular F-350 will work on the Cab & Chassis truck? Also, what about the tank straps? Does anybody know if pickup straps will work?
Thanks,
Bill.

If it's just one skid plate, then it's different from the pickups. The pickups use two skid plates.
RockAuto lists the same tanks / straps for the F-SD as the pickup models. Kinda surprising, since I recall when doing the rear tank on our one pickup, it barely fit between the frame rails, and IIRC the frame rail spacing is narrower on the C&C than on the pickups.
