I replaced the GPs and put in a duralift, same as you. I wait about 15 seconds for the pump to do its thing, and attempt to fire it up. Works MUCH better than before. I was draining the batteries 2 times sometimes to get the dang thing to start. Now it's just 2 seconds or so and it fires up, i use manual GP for about 10-12 seconds.

Are you seeing any air being pulled into your Duralift ?

I will double check, but I believe mine does have some air in the bowl while it is running. Mine had a hard start issue. The issue ended up being an IP/Injector issue. I replaced them and now mine fires off quickly, even with the high idle/cold advance sensor unplugged. It did this all winter and we had a lot of days where the high was below 0*F. Of course I did plug it in during the winter.

From what I recall, the pick-up for this pump is at the bottom of the bowl, so no air gets in the system. I think mine has air in the same place. Used the e-pump to replace the original mechanical pump which could not stay primed.
I assume that you have wired it up so that while your glow plugs are warming up your e-pump is priming the engine. Once I hooked up this new e-pump and put on new electrical battery connections (mine were corroded and not able to get tight on the terminal posts) my F-350 has not had a problem firing right up.
I stopped using the block heater, but from time to time keep a trickle charger on it, since this is a 3rd vehicle that we don't drive too often.
