Shopping for 'Aftermarket' unit for another project and although not that knowledgeable seems there are couple options; either a unit that works in conjunction w/ the existing air/heat box and vents, or an aftermarket unit that replaces the existing unit w/ low profile slim design that sets under the dash minimizing the imprint. Have seen pic's of the units for 'vintage' Bronco application w/ front control and vent to include side vent, not certain would work w/ the truck?? Tried running a search on topic and narrow field to 61-66 forum and several threads and suggestions but did not see many, if any pic's of the unit. Would like to see a pic of the A/C unit type that replaces the existing unit.
1965/67 F100/250 "hang-on" A/C bezel is the same as 1963/66 Falcon/Fairlane & 1965/66 Mustang.

Do you know the dementions on these units? The smallest under dash after market unit I've found is 14 1/2w, 12 1/2d, 5 3/4h. I made abox this size and it is huge in my truck, my foot would be tight from the gas to brake, sticks way up from dash etc.
I've got a couple of the 65-6 Mustang hang on units and while there's not a lot of extra room, there seems to be plenty to mount one of these in a slick, at least in my
'66. The real cramped area is up under the dash where the hoses and stuff will route but as far as foot/leg room, the driver shouldn't loose any. Now if you have a 3rd person, the guy in the middle is gonna have is knees up around his earlobes.

Vintage Air makes units that will hide under the dash with only 4 vents and the controls showing. I think they are around $1500.
I opted to stay natural. I live in San Antonio where it is hot but fairly dry so windows down is fine. She is not my DD so I go before noon or after 6:00. And sweat a lot.
Vintage Air will install or find you an installer. Search for forum, several have added ac and it is pretty much a bolt on.
