Wheel Fitment

Has anyone tried to put 16x7 94-01 dodge ram wheels on a 92-96 f150 4x4? I currently have the 10 hole 15x7.5 aluminum wheels that I beleive have 4.25" of backspacing. The ram wheels have 5" of backspace. With a 3" body lift and 2.5" suspension lift I am considering using the ram wheels with 255/85r16 Dunlop Mud Rovers.

Bolt patterns are the same, but more backspacing would cause tire rub problems.

If the backspace was a lot different I would have never asked. It just seems like I could get away with an extra .750". Thats all.

Nate, I'm in the process of installing a set of the Ford 7.5's on my Bronco. By my best measurments, the backspacing is 4 1/8". The critical dimension for you will be the distance between the wheel rim and the tie rod end. You might get under the truck, and measure it with the 7.5's on. You will need at least an inch clearance for the Dodge's to fit.

I don't think you will have that much clearance on your 4x4. If it's almost enough, you might be able to grind a little off the tie rod end......?
