The Falcon never got the respect it deserved. Dog%^&* motors like the 144 and 170 and 2 speed automatics--the kind of cars bought by people who put the car below the toaster as an appliance. The Sprint cars were a good alternative to the more expensive Mustang, but they had the econbox stink on them for some people. And Ford never said much about their rally success:
