Am I the only one that thinks Crew Cabs are ugly

I know my F-150 tows better then my Excursion. I still love it the same but one drive with the trailer hooked up made me a believer.

Do you mean your gears are numerically higher than the gears in a stock 250/350 or do you mean larger size wise? Ford has been using the sterling 10.25/10.5 since at least the mid 80's, which is bigger than the 9.75. If you mean ratio, then 4.88 is definitely bigger than anything offered in a 250/350.

Serious question, but how are the brakes on the new 150's? My experience with them stops with the 2010 body style, but on my bronco, dads 94 f150 and an uncles 06 f150 it takes two of the pads to equal one on my sd. The electric brakes went out on my trailer a while back and I didn't even think twice about pulling 8,000 lbs from Atlanta to Kingsport, but can't say I would have left the driveway with any of those 1/2 tons.

I learned that ford changed the brakes on the F-150, upsizing them every year from 09 to 11 and they may have changed even slightly after that i'm not 100%
empty it feels like it will do a nose stand if you asked it..i'm impressed! I have heard of the rotors warping though, so i do plan on upgrading rotors when i do the brakes finally..all stock at 25k right now.
this is my set-up

Thanks Russ! I knew they had made a lot of improvements to the 150 over the years in areas like towing and payload capacity, cab size, power, etc, but I wasn't sure how the brakes were. All those improvements don't mean much if you can't stop the load safely in an emergency. Good looking set up you have there

in one word? awesome. With my travel trailer with what i believe are not working at all trailer brakes, between the transmission downshifting perfectly in tow haul mode and the brakes i felt much more confident then towing the same twisty mountain road then with my Excursion which i have upgraded super duty Hawk pads and power slot cryo treated rotors.

Where did I say your truck wasn't set up properly for larger tires or not capable of handling your work??? You said your gears were bigger than most 250's and I asked if you meant actual gear size or numerical ratio. I said if you meant size wise, then ford has been using a 10.25 since the mid 80's for the 250, which is bigger size wise than the 9.75 in your 150. If you meant ratio, then you are correct in that it is bigger than any stock 250 ratio.

How did this become a thread about F-150's - overloaded F150's and a comparison of f-150 vs f250 ?
You have every right to debate all of those things - but create your own thread about it - I opened THIS thread to read about single cab vs other cabs.
Enjoy ya day !

I was not referring to your post per say but the fact that 150s are not as capable as 250s. Stock 150 compared to stock 250 of same year. The 250 would be more capable of heavier work. But most 150s used for work are not stock plus the newer versions are built for heavier work.
