Project rebody

well i have always loved this body of the 69 crew. i lalso have alot of love for the powerstroke. Allot of work has been done to the chassis on the 95 as a bonus it is a 4x4 and od trans 3.55 gears new brakes hardware rebuild rearend.... alot of $$ in it. the body is trash so i got a line on the crew it is 300 miles away so the tape measure. is a long distance affair.
i need a tow rig for my 35 ft camper in the sig line the chassis donor is there also.

can anywone help enlighten me on the issues i know wheel base is differnet by 6 inches the 95 is longer. so whacking, weldig and plating the frame will have to be done or maybe sliding rearend. also cutting the shafts. anyone know the bodymount differences.
also wiring but that will not be that bad
i want a/c i will creating the firewall to get clearance on the downpipe and a/c box. are cabs diffeent widths??
any help would be great

Most times these body swaps are harder than they look. These are discussed a lot in the 48 to 56 forum. They usually end up on craigslist half done. Not that it can't be done, but its harder than you think. You need fabrication experience to get it done.

Gotta do it talked to my wife. We do not want a truck payment. It will sit alot. Just like my 03 did and like my 95 does. I bought the 95 cheap 3000. And the crew 3500. I want a tow rig for my camper, i want an old classic body. This is where the 69 come in Would love donations lol. 4 inch downpipe and exhaust would be cool tune of the pcm for towing ect. Lol

Looks like the cab has to go forward cutting firewall. Gotta figure out a/c. Anyone have an old a/c heater box out of 67-72 ford truck

Just doing research.
Ext cab wb is 8 inches longer.
Overall length 240" oppose to crew of 116
Rear Cab to front bumper length 133 ext cab to 139 crew
Back of cab to rear wheel c.l. 58 ext to 40 on crew
Calculated. End of cab to c. line of front wheel needs to be 108 for crew 1/2 box gap and 40" for front of short box

So cab has to go forward 6 inches. Cut firewall and reform for psd
Laid out on my frame needs a 9 inch section removed or move rearend 9inches and hack off the end. Hmmm

Shorten the frame. Qshortening the drive shaft will be cheap. Moving the rear I think won't work out well.

Was thinking the same thing. Also thinking use part of 95 firewall. Seeing issues with pedals and ext lining up
Took a screen shot of firewall on a 79 vid. Looks easier to weld the 95 in

I'm not much help on the body swap, but I know these old OBS trucks pretty well and I happen to know where there might be a late 60s early 70s pickup in a yard so I'm subscribing to follow the progress and offer any help I can.

Doesn't matter how well you plan. There's always hidden costs from things you didn't realize or forgot about altogether
