The good:
It runs great. Gets excellent fuel mileage, and is the only vehicle I have ever owned that has never left me stranded on the side of the road. The only rust on this truck is surface rust, with a little in the bed and a little in the floor of the cab. no rust through anywhere on the vehicle. 4 new skyjacker shocks, 4 new tires last winter, new ball joints, i beam bushings, alignment, and "Sixliter" tune up with MSD coil summer of '13. It rides great and feels like a newer truck on the highway. It doesn't smoke at all or overheat. It has great oil pressure and only has a small oil leak from the rear main seal or oil pan. No other fluid leaks. I replaced the front pads, rotors, and wheel bearings last summer as well, and they are still in great shape. Both fuel tanks are rust free and both pumps work great. all the gauges work correctly. The dash is in pretty good shape. It has a Flowmaster HP2 muffler. It sounds fast.
The bad:
The floor covering is gone, along with most of the interior plastic. One of the previous owners removed the dealer installed a/c and left the duct from blower to cab open, so there is no heat. The heater core was leaking so I bypassed it. The transmission occasionally jumps out of overdrive when the fluid is hot. This hasn't been a big issue for me, because if you let off of the gas a little bit, it goes back into gear. Fluid and filter were changed, but it still does it from time to time. It has holes drilled into the bed rails where toolboxes were mounted and a hole drilled in the roof where a light was (sealed with silicone). The windshield wipers do not work. That funky relay/delay module is bad as far as I can tell.
The ugly:
It is Highway Department yellow and the decals on the door were painted over badly. The drivers seat bottom is pretty ragged, but still comfortable. It has a peace sign spray painted on the roof, but you can spot the truck easily on google maps
I will post pix in a few. It would be a great farm truck/parts truck or project, because regular cab/short bed trucks are always cool. Price is $850. It is located in Sumter, SC.
