fusible link problems

I had an issue this morning with the fusible link that supplies the fss and the gpr. I pulled the wire harness apart looking for a short but I couldn't find any bare wires. I tested the circuit for a short and only get a closed circuit when there is no power to fss. I replaced the fusible link with a inline fuse holder and a 7.5 amp buss fuse, I made it a quarter mile from home before that blew. Both times it blew i was under acceleration and had just shifted into 4th gear. I replaced it with a 10 amp fuse and drove home. No amount of testing or driving can I get the 10 AMP to blow and find the source of the problem. It was an original fusible link that is 25 years old and the best I can figure is that it was corroded and lost continuity. Does this sound right or does someone have another idea? Also today I started having an issue with the doors locking when I push the clutch to the floor. I know this is from a pinched wire of the key-less entry that was installed. Could this be a related issue or a fluke?
