Ok, not to say I haven't worn it in my car, and I do wear it really well, I just tend to take it off and wear my 10$ camo hat instead. Something about it being covered in both vehicles grease, oil, fuel, mud, sweat, maybe some blood, makes it more natural to wear. Especially if vehicle work is in the day's picture. Not unless I'm getting dressed up in my nicer jeans, boots and a button down to go to the bar, or not working on anything, do I tend to wear the nice brimmed hat.
Fightin words? Then what do you say to us 15 series guys that live in the Cav? We damn sure dont even think about trying for a blue cord or a CIB.
Besides, we like our hot showers and hot food...
(PS - We get spurs too with the hat. LOL)
HAHA!! Yea, not talkin trash on the 15 series, or air cav guys. They make it so we can get around in a pinch! I was originally going to be a 15T, I just didn't want to sign a 6 year contract for it though! As much as I wanted to ride in a UH60 all the time, and maybe be a crew chief. Mechanics is where I scored highest after all on the ASVAB. ]
I just chose to suck in the weather, walk/run long distances for fun, and enjoy my MRE's cold(sometimes)! Showers? Personally coming back from the field dirty, smelling of sweat, and unshowered(except for a baby wipe shower) for 2 weeks puts a smile on my face when people tell us we smell!
I don't think I'll see a CIB in my career, most of those days are getting farther and farther away. I did get my EIB though, which is more than what most can say. Maybe I'll just have to go on a spur ride, and get a stetson, and some spurs! If the opportunity ever presents itself that is.
Aw come on John, BLOC would be a cake walk for you. If you already have basic, you can do most of it online and just show up for the "field" portion of it (23 days)...
Dogs are great until you want to travel. Then you have to find a motel that will allow them and pay more for the privilege. The other option is usually to board them at $50-$100/day. Then there are vet bills, flea and tick treatments, food, scooping poop, dog hair etc. I love our dog but they come with plenty of negatives too.
