Hm, I didn't have any issues like that. It was a little harder to get in locked in the housing because of the tighter spring but not a big deal. Again, the part number was MMTS-F2D-03H and it had a barcode on it of 748354011791. The box didn't say Mishimoto but it was grey, white and orange checkerboard (like a Rubix cube pattern) with a big M on one corner.

On edit-Just found I had missed a call from John at XDP this morning. Message described the fitment issues and what they were working out with Mishimoto and offered a refund. I'll give him a call back tomorrow. Good to know they're on it.

The purple line is the before mark, dropped the stat in hot water for a minute, used a butter knife to push down on the chrome rod, and voila! all fixed.

Now to find some time to install it...

Given the price point, seems like they could have saved some headache and just shiped it out pre-installed in a housing like the rest of the manufactures do...

Come to think of it, this may be why the others come with a new housing..maybe they could extend during shipping also.

Although I didn't have any issues with mine, I agree.

Below is the document ammosdad shared....

Hey guys,

Thanks for the kind words regarding our products. It is great to see these thermostats already making their way into trucks and being tested by independent members of the forum.

We are very pleased that our thermostat is providing the temperatures preferred and a nice increase in fuel mileage.

A few folks mentioned thermostats for the 6.4L, we are working on a set of thermostats for this engine as well. We are hoping to have these on the market by December or January.

As mentioned by members here, the pin height is not a concern and these units fit perfectly with the stock housing. Please reference the attached document for any questions.

Feel free to follow-up with any product related questions!

Thanks
-John

Thanks for the feedback guys. Keep in mind that the pricing on our site is MSRP. Our vendors will have the best available pricing for all of our products.

I hate to say it, but the MSRP is still high. You guys should give everyone here at FTE a deep discount for promotional aspects

I will be getting mine in this weekend. Already seeing my stock stat drop. Only time I see 200 is towing. 203 towing my 5th wheel at 75 and 71 deg. Then 185 unloaded and running 70. If it holds temp this winter it will more than pay for itself. I have to cover the rad to bring mine up near temp in cold. Cold gets about 10mpg in the winter in town. Warmed (rad blocked) I can get back into the 14s. Well worth changing it out if it holds temp. Will let you guys know how my temp changes. Will be very interesting to see how it does this winter....

Hi Everyone,

I have been following the thread as I am currently doing the head gaskets on my 6.0 Ex. I realize that this is for the pickups but after reading this I just got my hands on one of these 200 thermostats and am hoping for quicker warm up times and will let everyone know how this goes once I am up and running. I also have future plans on running WVO thru the girl.
I had no troubles what so ever with installing it into the housing.
I did have some delays with the delivery but XDP Diesel was great to deal with and everything got sorted out.

I will also update the thread in the Excursion section that was started long ago when I first started having troubles with no heat which led me to the head gasket diagnosis.
This is a great site with people heloping troubleshoot problems/giving advice.
