I still have the original t stat and run 195 to 204. Luck of the draw I guess.

My Motorcraft T-Stat is from October 2012, roughly 30k miles and still doing what it needs to do.

Is this the same as the thermostat that is $70 on the left of this photo?

I am comparing a photo of the Mishimoto thermostat and the thermostat on the left. I am just curious and not trying to hijack this post. Thanks

The holding tangs are not the same
to start with and the one looks shorter.

It is from a 2009 6.4L. The left thermostat is a Stant 203*. Comes with both the 203* and 190* in the kit. I was searching for a less expensive alternative to the Mishimoto. I just cant see Mishimito manufacturing them.

Thanks for letting me know.

If you look at post #9 Money-Pit posted a link to a much better price
for the T-stat from Mishimoto MMTS-F2D-03H High-Temperature Thermostat.

Is the 6.4 t-stat pictured on the left the 203 degree style? Looks the same as the 6.0 with the addition of the gasket on the flange

Yes it is but I want to verify with measurements. The local auto part stores do not have the 6.4 thermostats in stock. Thinking of purchasing both the 6.0 and 6.4 from Rockauto, $34.56 shipped.

I overlooked post #9 that had the thermostat for cheaper. I am curious on MPG. Going to be doing two cross country trips and any fuel savings is a bonus.

Yes, the one on the left is the 203*. The holding tangs have an extra piece bent over where it is held in the housing, but that could be zipped off with a dremel "IF" it would otherwise fit dimensionally. Also, we don't know what it looks like when we take that rubber seal off.....yet

I will have one of these 203* 6.4 t-stats in my hands later today....when I get home I will compare it to my Ford 192* and report back.

EDIT: I don't think the 6.4 t stat will work....but I'll compare side by side tonight.

Sweet find Moneypit. I went thru 3 stockers a while back trying to get temps up. This will be a mod before winter for me. With all the interest could this be a group buy effort?
