The bus they used to haul wounded soldiers in MASH was a 54 6 cylinder..... interesting since the Korean War ended in 1954.
Korean War: June 25, 1950 - July 27, 1953.

June 25th is an infamous date in US history, as Custer 'met his Waterloo' at the Little Big Horn (formerly Custer) Battlefield on June 25, 1876.

My Dad was a reserve officer at that time. He was called to deploy, packed his duffle, put on his uniform and was waiting for the car to pick him up. Instead the phone rang, “Dr. Ingram, the conflict is over”. His deployment was going to be to lead a MASH. In WWII he was the officer overseeing several MASH units. I was 2 when his deployment was canceled, and I heard the story so many times I swear I can remember it, although I know it was just what I made up in my mind.

The TV show MASH, where they called it Korea, it was really written about Vietnam. They couldn’t use Vietnam because of the controversy over the war at the time.

back to the bus....someone should rescue that and turn it into a mobile home. It’s too cool to sit in a field.

My father in law served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. Enlisted at 17. He was on the USS Coral Sea. Two years later when my wife was born the named her Coral. They almost called her Coral Sea but settled for Coral Lea!
